Editing Week 1

This week we started editing the first 45 seconds of our film opening, up until thee title frame. When editing these clips, we decided to have each clip fade in and out to create a disjointed and broken feeling. Not only does this make the opening more mysterious, it also sets the tone and place of the film. By alternating between establishing shots and action shots, there is a contrast between peace and madness. This undermines the criminal story, which leads to the audience being more curious about what is yet tp come. Moreover, we decided to use read font to symbolize anger and blood. While editing, we had a hard time figuring out how to make the transitions more smooth. After some trial and error, we were able to figure out how to overlap the clips and make the transitions stretch from clip to clip rather than just being on one side of a clip.
